Thirty minutes and there is
nothing to prepare.
This is not a pitch and it is not a free audit. It is nine questions about your business, asked in order, so that both of us can find out whether there is something here worth doing. At the end we will tell you honestly, including if the answer is no.
Pick a timeFive questions worth
three minutes of your time.
You do not have to answer these and there are no documents to dig out. But if you have a few minutes beforehand, they let us be useful faster. Short answers are the right answers.
What does the business do and roughly what did it turn over last year?
What made you take this call now rather than six months ago?
If the business looked exactly like this in three years, would that be fine?
What have you already tried on it?
Who else would be part of a decision like this?
Question two is the one that matters most. Businesses do not go looking for advice because things are broadly fine. Something specific happened.
On the call and after it.
You talk, we listen
Nine questions in a set order. If we are talking more than a third of the time, we have run it badly.
No advice on this call
By minute fifteen we will have an idea. We will not share it, because an idea with no numbers behind it is worth nothing and yours deserves better.
No quote on this call
The fee bands are published on the advisory page so you already know the range before you dial. The number for your business comes after a second, longer conversation about how the work actually gets done. Pricing you on thirty minutes would be guessing.
A written answer within two working days
One page saying what we think is going on and whether it is worth a second conversation. No price on it. If we think you do not need us, the page says that instead and nothing follows it.
About half of these calls should end without a second one. That is not a failure of the call, it is the point of it, and you will get a straight reason rather than a follow-up sequence. One thing you should know before we speak rather than after: where we later recommend a provider from our specialist network, that provider pays us. We will tell you every time, at the point we make the recommendation, and you are free to use anyone you like.
Thirty minutes.
